Fujitsu Fi-5000N Network Box

The Fujitsu Fi-5000N enables up to 32 users to share one networked scanner, using fingerprints for authentication of the identity and deliver the document to the user’s PC.

There are two ways of using the box, called “Pull” and “Push”. Users may 'Pull' images from the networked scanner in a similar way to a locally connected scanner, I.e. from the application select scanner and scanning parameters within the TWAIN driver, then place the documents on scanner and identify themselves to the fi-5000N, either by fingerprint or PIN number. The scanned image will then be delivered back into their application. Alternatively, users “Push”, I.e. identify themselves to the Fujitsu fi-5000N at the networked scanner location, using either fingerprint or PIN number. This information is used by the system to indicate the target PC, and pressing the scan button will cause the target application to open on the users PC and the image be delivered to it.

Using the Fujitsu fi-5000N with ScandAll21 allow users to automate many office processes, such as sending a document as an email attachment, using the Fujitsu fi-5000N to scan the document and open the email client, having the scanned document already attached. It only remains to select the recipients from the PC’s address book, edit the message and send it.
