The Eclipse™ Production Level Rollfilm scanner from nextScan™ was designed for the demanding user. Eclipse scans 16 and 35 mm microfilm for multiple applications including, large scale projects that are time critical, cost sensitive and require superior image quality.
Many times faster than other rollfilm scanners, Eclipse will scan 300 pages per minute and create grayscale and bitonal images simultaneously without reduction of output speed. Designed to run 24 hours per day, Eclipse boast, 20 second high speed rewind, auto focus and fast straight line film loading. nextScan's exclusive Adaptive Speed Control optimizes scan speed by automatically adjusting for potential network bottlenecks.
Eclipse uses superior camera technology that produces incredible speed precision and uniform output with less light. The use of fibre optics eliminates hot spots and uneven lighting, making images sharper and better edge definition. A 10 bit, antiblooming camera array enhances image quality and protects against overexposure. The auto focus feature and film cleaning rollers insure optimal input quality.
Software Functionality
Eclipse combined with the nextScan Fusion™ software was designed to reduce conversion cost by minimizing operator set up time and eliminating the need for rescans due to poor quality output.
Fusion uses a one window interface that is much simpler and intuitive than just click on one of the four tabs for setup. Fusion’s flexibility gives the Eclipse operator total control over the scanner setup options, resulting in superior quality output. Some of Fusion’s unique functions:
- nextAssist Wizard analyzes the image data and provides a base setup the operator.
- Filter setup performed in real time with no rescan of the image.
- Output grayscale and bitonal at the same time.
- Output multiple image types simultaneously during scanning such as grayscale, mono and thumbnails.
- Mirror, crop, deskew, rotate and 10 bit gamma correction.
- Dual detection bands dramatically improve detection of document edges on poor film.
- Deliver the job on time and under budget with the lightning fast and affordable Eclipse production level rollfim scanner from nextScan.
