Bristol Microfilm and Imaging were set up in 1990 to offer a microfilming bureau service. Within two years we had the opportunity to acquire another bureau in Bristol under the name of Profile Microfilming. With this expansion, larger offices were needed so we relocated to our present address.

During 1997 B-M-I acquired another company Micrographic and Dyeline, which offered a maintenance and repair service for all micrographic and imaging hardware. This gave BMI the opportunity to expand into resellers of hardware and software products. After a successful period BMI were offered the opportunity to become a Canon Business Partner.

In 1999, B-M-I acquired yet another Microfilm based company called Wessex Microfilm based in Bideford, Devon. This allowed the bureau side of the company to expand. During the same year another acquisition was made, a company named AMP (UK) an imaging company based in Poole. This acquisition allowed BMI to move into software support and the manufacturing of 16/35mm microfilm readers, these readers can be found in most record offices in the UK and BMI have expanded sales worldwide.

Soon after B-M-I were recognised as one of Canon's largest distributor of micrographic, imaging hardware and software. with Canon's support and our experienced staff, our software support and document management solutions have escalated, helping us to provide paperless solutions for offices nationwide.

We are now in the process of taking on a second site in Bristol, this will be situated within a short distance of the existing site, this will allow BMI to expand further.

In 2006, we expanded even more and set up full e-commerce online shops allowing our customers to buy Document Scanners, Microfiche Readers and much more, selling more than twenty thousand pounds worth of equipment in our first month trading online alone.

From 2006 to date BMI Solutions have continued to expand our business activities and are now supplying document scanners worldwide!
